Cultural Competence and Caring for Transgender Patients: King on the Women’s Healthcast

Studies show that up to 70% of transgender and gender-nonconforming patients experience healthcare discrimination and sub-optimal care. Cara King, DO, of the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Gynecology and Gynecologic Subspecialties, is trying to change that, starting with additional education for medical students and ob-gyn residents.

Brown’s Mind Over Matter earns UW ICTR grant!

Exciting news for Heidi Brown, MD, of the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Gynecology and Gynecologic Subspecialties! Brown earned an 18-month, $150,000 grant from UW ICTR-Community Academic Partnerships to adapt her Mind Over Matter program into a digital format.
