Mindy Rose is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at UW Health West Clinic in Ob-Gyn. She describes her job as “providing office Ob-Gyn care, anything and everything that that brings. I get to work with a great team of professionals who make my job enjoyable, easier and fun. I really enjoy working with pregnant women.” And with the fun also comes challenges, “caring for women during a pregnancy loss or with a difficult diagnosis.”
Mindy grew up in Spiceland, Indiana on a farm. She went to a very small, rural high school amongst the corn fields of Indiana. She went to college at Indiana University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1991 and subsequently her Master of Science in Nursing in 1996. After college, Mindy worked at St. Francis Hospital in Labor and Delivery for six years. After becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked in private practice for a large group of physicians before moving to Iowa. Mindy and her husband, Dr. Steve Rose, spent five years in Iowa City, Iowa during Steve’s fellowship training. Mindy enjoyed her job at the University of Iowa working with the residents and medical students.
In her spare time, Mindy enjoys spending time with family, traveling, snow skiing, swimming and reading.
