Bozzuto invited to join ACOG Breast Cancer Evidence Review Panel

Laura Bozzuto, MD, of the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn, joined our department in a joint appointment with the UW Department of Surgery’s Division of Surgical Oncology, where she focuses on breast surgery. So it comes as no surprise that she was invited to join the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Breast Cancer Evidence Review Panel – no one is better suited to it.

ACOG is convening the panel to review the current evidence on how best to educate women’s healthcare providers about early onset breast cancer, publish a literature review, and serve as content experts in the development of scripts for provider education videos on early onset breast cancer.

As part of this incredibly important panel, Bozzuto will review current literature on various aspects of breast cancer, including hereditary breast cancer, how risk can be communicated, optimizing patient understanding of risk, details of genetic counseling and testing, and much more. The panel will also share literature reviews with the CDC and help develop provider education CME videos.

Congratulations, Dr. Bozzuto!
