Heidi Brown, MD, of the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Advanced Pelvic Surgery, will be part of the 2019-20 cohort of the Morgridge Fellows Community-Engaged Scholarship (CES) professional development program! She is one of 10 faculty selected for this year’s cohort.

As part of the program, Brown will expand her (already considerable) skills in building and maintaining mutually beneficial community-university relationships, planning and implementing sustainable community-based learning and research projects, and serve as a mentor for other faculty, staff, students, and community partners interested in community-engaged scholarship.

The purpose of the Morgridge Fellows program is to further institutionalize and support community-engaged scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Community-engaged scholarship (CES) is defined as: teaching, research, and scholarly activities that are performed in equitable, mutually beneficial collaboration with communities and community members to fulfill campus and community objectives.

Congratulations, Dr. Brown!
