Gant, PhD candidate in Patankar Lab, gives presentation on research careers

Kristal Gant, PhD candidate in the UW Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology program and researcher in the Patankar Lab, returned to the university that helped her pursue her research career to mentor other students interested in a similar path. Her visit and presentation was captured in an excellent profile: A Return to Mentor: Gant Advises on PREP for PhDs.

At Missouri University, Gant was a Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) scholar. PREP scholars spend one to two years gaining research experience and refining their skills. Gant’s presentation to Mizzou students covered her path to her current research career, how the PREP program helped connect her to the many possibilities available in research, and how students can tell if a career in research is right for them.
