Green outlines aspects of health disparities and COVID on CNBC

In an interview with CNBCTiffany Green, PhD, assistant professor in the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Reproductive and Population Health and the UW-Madison Department of Population Health Sciences, discussed many aspects of health disparities highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic: 

“We’re seeing long-standing disparities exposed,” said Tiffany Green, assistant professor of population health sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “This is laying bare all the disparities that were already there. All of us have been doing this work. We’ve been talking about and screaming about this for years.” 

The article lays out the disproportionate burden of COVID-19 on Black communities across our country, and some of the many structural biases that contribute to the burden. In the article, Green also talks about historical mistreatment of communities that have led to mistrust in the medical system.
