On Thursday, August 1, UW Ob-Gyn Vice Chair for Education Ellen Hartenbach, MD joined the Wisconsin Public Radio Morning Show for an in-depth discussion on maternal health care in rural Wisconsin.

During the 20-minute interview, Hartenbach and host Kate Archer-Kent talked about what’s fueling the trend of rural Wisconsin hospitals discontinuing childbirth services (a mix of low patient volume, scarce workforce, and reimbursement issues), why training more physicians to work in rural areas is so important, and much more.
