Hutcherson presents as part of UW Center for Community Engagement and Health Partnership event

Beverly Hutcherson, director of the Ladder in the UW SMPH Office of Human Resources, Equity and Inclusion, presented “The Biological Impacts of Racism” during a virtual event on June 19, attended by more than 550 people! Hutcherson is also a graduate student in the UW Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology program, working with advisor David Abbott, PhD.

Hutcherson gave her presentation as part of the UW-Madison Center for Community Engagement and Health Partnership in Milwaukee’s Addressing Systemic Racism series. In it, she discussed common theories of how racism leads to poorer health outcomes, walked through principles of epigenetics, and more.
