Silva discusses rural residency in Bloomberg News
The UW Ob-Gyn Rural Residency program gets a mention in an article on Bloomberg News. As we know, our first-in-the-nation rural ob-gyn residency training program aims to help physicians feel adequately prepared for rural practice. But specialized training, says UW Ob-Gyn Residency Program Manager Jody Silva, is only one piece of the puzzle.
“Rural hospitals also need assistance in recruiting doctors, Jody Silva, Rural Residency Program manager at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, said. Providing tuition reimbursements or other incentives for doctors to take jobs would help increase the workforce, she said.”
