In November, the UW School of Medicine and Public Health hosted its first-ever Women in Medicine and Science Symposium, and UW Ob-Gyn Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn Director Makeba Williams, MD was part of the planning committee that made it such an excellent event.

Presentations like “Quit Fixing Women,” by the UW Department of Surgery’s Caprice Greenberg, MD MPH, and “Beyond Mentorship,” by Azita Hamedani, MD, MPH, MBA, endowed chair of emergency medicine, led into a panel discussion about leadership and professional development for women in medicine and science.

Congratulations to Dr. Williams and all involved in the inaugural Women in Medicine and Science Symposium!
