It’s estimated that 20 million women and 10 million men in the US will have an eating disorder at some point in their lives. During National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, UW SMPH Department of Pediatrics Assistant Professor Paula Cody, MD, joined the Women’s Healthcast to discuss eating disorders.

In the interview, Cody talked about how common eating disorders are, where fad diets fall on the disordered eating spectrum, how body image plays into disordered eating, and how we can work towards greater body acceptance as a culture.
