Women’s Healthcast: Universal Contraceptive Coverage

Tags: laurel rice, podcast, Outreach

The Women’s Healthcast has covered birth control many times – how it works, what kinds of side effects are considered when new methods are developed, how technology can help improve access, or put a new spin on an old standby. But it's one thing to know how birth control works and how to choose the best method, and it's another thing entirely to actually have affordable, consistent access  to the full range of modern contraceptive methods.

On the latest episode of the Women’s Healthcast, UW Ob-Gyn Department Chair Laurel Rice, MD discusses why she is a passionate supporter of universal contraceptive coverage. Rice recently published an article in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology encouraging other physicians to advocate for improved contraceptive access.
