Chi Zhou, PhD, of the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Reproductive Sciences, recently received the American Heart Association (AHA) Career Development Award!

The award provides $231,000 over a three-year period ($77,000 per year, 2019 to 2022) to support Zhou’s research project “Preeclampsia dysregulates fetal endothelial responses to growth factors and cytokines”. Jing Zheng, PhD, serves as the primary mentor, and Ian Bird, PhD and Ronald Magness, PhD are co-mentors in this project.

The AHA Career Development Award supports highly promising healthcare and academic professionals, in the early years of one’s first professional appointment, to explore innovative questions or pilot studies that will provide preliminary data and training necessary to assure the applicant’s future success as a research scientist.

Congratulations on this exciting achievement, Dr. Zhou!
