Barroilhet, Patankar receive UW Carbone Cancer Center pilot grant

Congratulations to Lisa Barroilhet, MD, MS, director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and Manish Patankar, PhD, director of the Division of Reproductive Sciences! They recently received pilot funding from the UW Carbone Cancer Center to study new immunotherapeutic agent for ovarian cancer.  

The project "Investigating fusokine IL-6/1 as a novel immunotherapeutic agent against ovarian cancer” will be a collaboration with Jacques Galipeau, MD, professor of hematology, medical oncology and palliative care in the Department of Medicine. Sejal Sharma, PhD candidate in the Patankar Lab, developed compelling data that supported the grant application. The one-year grant provides $50,000 in research support with an option to apply for an additional year of funding.
