The Data Is Concerning,” Cooney discussed the relationship between weight and PMOS, the mental health factors that can affect patients, and how weight-focused care can impact the patient-provider relationship:
“If it takes someone three years to get diagnosed and they feel like people are focusing on weight and not focusing on their other issues or they feel like they’re just putting a Band-Aid over their symptoms, they can lose trust in the health care system completely.”
