Cutler talks about Wisconsin Supreme Court decision with WPR

Abigail Cutler, MD, MPH, assistant professor in the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn, recently joined Wisconsin Public Radio’s Wisconsin Today program to talk about the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s decision regarding the state’s 1849 law on abortion.
In “State Supreme Court rules against 1849 abortion ban”, Cutler talked about the significance, for patients and providers, of the Supreme Court’s decision, which affirms that abortions are legal following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022:
“My hope is that the repeal of this law will help providers, physicians, hospital, and health systems offer more consistent care that is aligned with our evidence-base and is patient-centered, and that is, really, in accordance with medical standards. But, it’s hard to know exactly how it will all play out again just given the multitude of state restrictions that already make it difficult for patients to access abortion care, but also providers to provide it.”
