Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility celebrates 15 years with Generations of Joy event

On Friday, August 8, the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) hosted 328 patients, children and families at the UW Health Fertility Care Generations of Joy event to celebrate 15 years of exceptional fertility care.
UW Health Fertility Care physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and clinic staff reconnected with families who received services from the clinic. Families and children enjoyed the activities at the Madison Children’s Museum, including a face painter. Bala Bhagavath, MD, director of the Division of REI, thanked attendees for joining the event and reflected on the clinic’s growth over the last several years:
“In the past five and half years that I have been part of this team, we have grown a lot and have expanded the services we offer to our community.
We help more families undergo IVF every month; we increased the number of cancer patients we can help preserve their fertility; We have made it easy for people to access the full spectrum care they need under one roof.
We are grateful that we were able to work with all of you, but many more have not had the opportunity to access our care because of affordability. We have the responsibility to advocate for those people – after all, our vision is that everyone deserves to have the family they desire.”
Bhagavath shared information with participants about the Building Families Alliance Wisconsin to learn more about supporting broader coverage for fertility care in Wisconsin.
