Funding available for UWPRC Small Grants
The UW-Madison Prevention Research Center (UWPRC) announced the 4th annual Small Grant Competition to support research promoting maternal and child health and health equity. Grants are intended to support small-scale and innovative research projects, especially those that will provide preliminary data leading to larger research efforts in population health and wellbeing, health equity, or disease prevention for women, children, and families.
Proposed projects must align with the UWPRC’s focus on maternal and child health, advancing health equity and addressing the social determinants of health (such as transportation, housing, poverty, food insecurity, etc.), as well as research to improve the health of people throughout different areas of the state of Wisconsin. Of special interest are proposals that address one or more of the following priority areas identified by the UWPRC Community Advisory Board:
- Improving mental health for parents, children, and other caregivers
- Supporting families, defined in an inclusive way (e.g. including fathers, extended families, non-family caregivers, LGBTQIA+ families) through programs or policies
- Addressing discrimination against people of color in healthcare
