Gaston promoted to Clinical Professor

Please join us in congratulating Luther Gaston, MD, of the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn! The UW School of Medicine and Public Health Clinician Teacher Track Faculty Appointments and Promotions Committee endorsed the Department of Ob-Gyn’s recommendation that Gaston be promoted to the rank of Clinical Professor, starting June 29, 2025.
Gaston received his MD from Rush Medical College, followed by ob-gyn From there, residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Prior to coming to UW, Gaston was an instructor in ob-gyn at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and an ob-gyn physician at hospitals in Chicago and Milwaukee. He joined the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn faculty in 2017.
Since 2018, Gaston has served as the Medical Director in the OB Hospitalist Program at UnityPoint Health-Meriter. In 2020 he started as a clinical associate professor in the UW SMPH Dept. of Ob-Gyn, as well as a Director for the Clerkship of Sub Internship for OB In House Rotation. He has also collaborated across the department in research topics focusing on fetal growth in the presence of preeclampsia and using intrapartum transperineal ultrasound to predict vaginal delivery.
