Grand Rounds: Bakkum-Gamez presents “Leveraging Methylated DNA Markers in the Detection of Endometrial Cancer”
On March 12, 2026, Jamie N. Bakkum-Gamez, MD, professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic and UWSMPH ‘02 graduate, gave the keynote lecture at Resident Scholars Day. For the keynote, she presented “Leveraging Methylated DNA Markers in the Detection of Endometrial Cancer”.
In the lecture, Bakkum-Gamez defined the current clinical state in endometrial cancer (EC) diagnostics; summarized the Mayo Clinic methylated DNA marker pipeline in EC; and discussed ongoing methylated DNA marker work and future directions in EC detection test development.
