Grand Rounds: Berry-Smith presents Circle of Care: Doulas as Catalysts for Community Wellness and System Transformation

On August 28, 2025, Micaela Berry-Smith, BA, Senior Program Manager for Community & Maternal and Child Health Initiatives for the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness (FFBWW), presented the Grand Rounds lecture “Circle of Care: Doulas as Catalysts for Community Wellness and System Transformation”. Berry-Smith is also the associate director of community engagement at the UW-Madison Prevention Research Center.
In the lecture, Berry-Smith discussed the maternal and child health crisis in Wisconsin; the FFBWW’s approach to maternal health; and shared information on doulas and the importance of doulas in medical settings.
