Grand Rounds: Cox presents “An Evidence Based Case for Liberalizing Post-Operative Restrictions”

On July 16, 2026, Caroline Cox, MD, associate professor and director of the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, presented the Grand Rounds lecture “An Evidence Based Case for Liberalizing Post-Operative Restrictions.”

In the lecture, Cox discussed how patients experience post-operative restrictions, explained that many current activity limitations are based on tradition rather than strong evidence, and emphasized the importance of creating more flexible, individualized recovery guidelines based on patient needs and research.
