Grands Rounds: Cass presents “HPV Vaccination and Lower Genital Tract Dysplasia: The Promise and the Reality”
On February 22, Ilana Cass, MD, chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, presented the Grand Rounds lecture “HPV Vaccination and Lower Genital Tract Dysplasia: The Promise and the Reality.” Cass gave the Dr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Leonard Visiting Professor Series lecture at Resident Research Day.
In the lecture, Cass discussed HPV prevention and the importance of its vaccine. Cass mentioned how cervical cancer cases can be reduced over time as more people receive the HPV vaccination. Providers should also continue to vaccinate patients even after prior HPV infections or abnormal pap smears, as vaccination can reduce HPV-related diseases in the future.
