Healthy Women Community Talk: Gestational Diabetes: Thriving Through Pregnancy and Beyond
Gestational diabetes–high blood sugar during pregnancy–affects up to 10% of pregnancies in the United States. It can increase health risks for both the parent and the baby–but with the right knowledge and support, people can take steps to stay healthy during pregnancy and beyond.
On April 2, 2026, faculty and fellows in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine offered a free, virtual Healthy Women Community Talk “Gestational Diabetes: Thriving Through Pregnancy and Beyond.” During the event, guest experts John Soehl, MD, Kathy Stewart, MD, Samantha Howell, MD, and April Eddy, RN, talked about how to manage blood sugar during pregnancy and shared nutrition and lifestyle tips for healthy pregnancy.
