Heidi Janzen to join department as Research Program Associate Director
Heidi Janzen, MBA, has accepted an offer to join us as the UW Department of Ob-Gyn’s first-ever Research Program Associate Director. She will start in this role on January 30, 2023.
Heidi is an experienced research administrator and leader with an extensive background in university administration. She has held a variety of research and business administration roles at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee since 2000, including serving as lead senior research administrator in the UW-Milwaukee College of Health Sciences and assistant dean for budget and finance in both the Zilber School of Public Health and the College of Nursing. In past roles, Heidi has developed and executed budgets, supervised staff, administered federal, state, local, and industry research grants, and much more.
Heidi attended UW-Milwaukee for her undergraduate degree as well as her Master’s in Business Administration. In addition, she is a Certified Research Administrator.
In this new role, Heidi will partner with the two UW Ob-Gyn Vice Chairs of Research to lead and advance the research mission of the department. She will supervise the Sponsored Projects and Financial Services Core, the Human Subjects Core, the Tissue Collections and Processing Core, and the Data Analysis and Management Core, working closely with the Finance Associate Director and Finance team. She will also lead the effort of supporting residents, fellows, graduate students and other trainees with their research.
