Higgins receives Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award

Huge congratulations to Jenny Higgins, PhD, MPH, director of the Division of Reproductive and Population Health and the Collaborative for Reproductive Equity, who received a Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award from the University of Wisconsin–Madison Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research!  

The Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award provides $75,000 in flexible funds that can be used for research, publication, project assistantships, or other expenses related to scholarly activity. This award is for the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027. 

Higgins received this award for her nationally recognized expertise on reproductive health policy and advancement of sexual and reproductive health. Her well-funded research platform includes funding from a number of federal and private national organizations. Her robust publication record includes award winning publications for her work on pregnancy ambivalence and contraceptive use. In addition, Higgins is an award-winning teacher and mentor. She also received the 2024 GWIMS/BIRCWH Women’s Health Research Mentorship Award in recognition of impactful mentorship of women scientists fostering successful careers in women’s health and sex/gender differences research.
