Hoppe discusses preeclampsia and Promise Walk on WKOW

Kara Hoppe, DO, PhD, associate professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, joined WKOW for a recent story about Madison’s Promise Walk for Preeclampsia.
In “Madison Promise Walk supports mission of Preeclampsia Foundation,” Hoppe sat down with Britney Paffel, a preeclampsia survivor, and Kristin Hildebrandt, a lead preeclampsia nurse to discuss what preeclampsia is, and explain the Walk.
Hoppe stressed the importance of monitoring blood pressure levels during pregnancy, as many symptoms can be quite subtle and many people don’t realize they’re experiencing hypertension or preeclampsia until their illness is severe.
The event will take place in Lewis Park in McFarland on Saturday, September 28 from 10am to 1pm, and aims to help raise awareness and funds for preeclampsia and hypertensive disorders associated with pregnancy.
