Jacques, Bennett co-author new paper in Health Affairs

Laura Jacques, MD, associate professor in the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn, and Eliza Bennett, MD, clinical associate professor in the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn, recently co-authored a new article published in Health Affairs. Co-authors include Jenna Nobles and Sungsik Hwang.

In “Abortion Restrictions Threaten Miscarriage Management In The United States,” Jacques, Bennett, and co-authors illustrate the connection between abortion and miscarriage care, and how restrictions on the former greatly affect management of the latter.

They estimated that, “1,034,000 miscarriages occur annually, including nearly 400,000 in US states with abortion bans. Attempts to restrict mifepristone access further threaten miscarriage management.”
