Jacques selected for WMAA Early Career Achievement Award

Laura Jacques, MD, associate professor in the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn, was selected to receive a 2024 Wisconsin Medical Alumni Association (WMAA) Early Career Achievement Award! Jacques will be honored at an award presentation ceremony on April 19, 2024.

The WMAA Early Career Achievement Award honors UW School of Medicine and Public Health MD alumni who have attained exemplary success early in their career. They will have made outstanding contributions through clinical service, research, education and/or administrative leadership.

In the nominating materials, Jacques is celebrated for her excellence and dedication as an educator. In her time with the Department of Ob-Gyn, Jacques developed four inpatient acting internships (IAI) within Ob-Gyn subspecialities, incorporated nurses and senior medical students as well as residents as partners in medical student training, created an innovative longitudinal preceptor clinic that matches one medical student with one faculty member throughout a 12-week block, and more.

Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Dr. Jacques!
