Ladanyi patient’s endometriosis story published by UW Health

Camille Ladanyi, MD, assistant professor in the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn, was featured in a UW Health story about one patient’s experience with endometriosis. Anna Phelan, a patient of Ladanyi’s, shared her journey to an endometriosis diagnosis with UW Health in the article "Anna finds relief after minimally invasive surgery."

Ladanyi helped Phelan with her diagnosis in 2023. Prior, Phelan’s experience was frustrating, as the symptoms of endometriosis are hard to treat and sometimes even identify.

Endometriosis cannot be fully determined without surgery, and Phelan had this minimally invasive excisional surgery with Ladanyi in summer 2023.

“Dr. Ladanyi and her team would not sugarcoat things, but they cared for me with empathy and respect,” Anna says. “I had a great connection with them right from the start and knew instinctively that they had my best interests at heart. I hope this is something that more women can experience,” said Phelan."
