Lick and BME students earn SMPH/BME Tech Collaborative Innovation Award

Our congratulations to Jay Lick, DO, and UW-Madison biomedical engineering students Elizabeth Wacker, Nesya Graupe, Sakina Tariq, Lauren Hicks, Annika Rossebo, and UWSMPH medical student Ansley Hartney, who earned the Biomedical Engineering and UW SMPH Tech Collaborative Innovation Award!

The team earned the award for their project “Elevator for the Impacted Fetal Head During Cesarean Section.” The group worked to “create a disposable device that elevates the impacted fetal head from the pelvis in a safe and easy way to limit complications during cesarean section.” Watch a video demonstrating the device’s function here.

Incredible work, all!
