Ong joins panel on AI in medicine at Cap Times Idea Fest

Irene Ong, PhD, associate professor in the Division of Reproductive Sciences, joined a panel of oncologists, scientists, and researchers at Cap Times Idea Fest on September 25, 2026. 

Ong was part of the “AI in Cancer Research and Care: Friend or Foe?” panel alongside UW Carbone Cancer Center director Christian Capitini, MD, Christoph Lee, MD, MS, MBA, professor in the Department of Radiology, and Pallavi Tiwari, PhD, associate professor in the Departments of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering. Their discussion included ways in which machine learning can impact patient outcomes, accelerate drug discovery, and modify clinical workflows.
