Spencer presents at AAMC Learn Serve Lead conference

Ryan Spencer, MD, MS, professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and director of the Rural Residency Track, participated in an educational panel at the Annual Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Learn, Serve, Lead Meeting from November 1-5, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Fellow panelists included Lori Rodefeld, Deputy Director of Rural GME Technical Assistance at the University of North Carolina Sheps Center for Health Services Research; Paulette Wehner, Vice Dean for Graduate Medical Education at Marshall University; and Brad Cunningham, Lead Policy and Regulatory Analyst at AAMC.

During the session “Bridging the Pathway to Practice: Financing Clinical Training in Rural and Underserved Areas”, the panelists shared their insights regarding the unique opportunities available for rural and underserved training sites, including funding and accreditation considerations.
