Spencer receives Rural Health Day Community Hero Award

Congratulations to Ryan Spencer, MD, MS, associate professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, who received a Rural Health Day Community Hero Award from the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health in November!

Spencer was nominated by the Wisconsin Collaborative for Rural Graduate Medical Education (WCRGME) for his efforts to expand rural maternity care training in Wisconsin and across the country. He is the Central Hub Lead for the Rural Residency Program Development Technical Assistance Center, funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration.

Wisconsin Office of Rural Health Rural Communities Program Manager Kevin Jacobson shared this about Spencer:
