UW Ob-Gyn hosts successful Heartland Association of Gynecologic Oncology annual meeting

Huge congratulations to the planning committee of the Heartland Association of Gynecologic Oncology’s 2nd annual meeting! The meeting brought 62 attendees together in Madison to learn about the latest developments in gynecologic cancer care on September 17 and 18, 2021. The committee planned a safe, engaging event while adhering to COVID protocols.

 

During the two-day meeting, participants took in 22 presentations, including 20 abstract presentations, a keynote by David Cohn, MD, MBA, Chief Medical Officer at the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at Ohio State University, and an Advancing Science feature presentation from Daniela Matei, MD, of Northwestern University.

 

The committee also awarded prizes for best submitted abstracts. Congratulations to Monica Janke, MD, ob-gyn resident at the University of Michigan, who won the Abstract Award for Clinical Research, and Hannah Micek, MS, of UW-Madison, who won the Abstract Award for Translational/Laboratory Science!

 

Save the date now for the 2022 Heartland Association of Gynecologic Oncology meeting! Next year’s meeting will be September 30-October 2, 2022 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
