Welcome Carley Zeal, MD, MPH, to Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn

We are pleased to welcome a familiar face back to the UW Department of Ob-Gyn: on January 1, 2024, Carley Zeal, MD, MPH will join the Division of Academic Specialists as an ob-gyn nocturnist and assistant professor. Zeal graduated from ob-gyn residency in our department in 2017.

Zeal attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison for her undergraduate, medical, and residency training. She earned a master’s in public health during medical school. After residency, Zeal completed a Complex Family Planning fellowship at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has worked as an attending ob-gyn at MercyHealth Beloit Clinic in Beloit, Wisconsin and Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, Wisconsin since 2019.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Zeal is a passionate advocate for reproductive health. She was a many-time delegate to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Congressional Leadership Conference, where attendees learn best practices for engaging policymakers around health issues and visit their state’s congressional delegation. She is currently a member of the ACOG OB/GYN Political Action Committee. In 2018, she attended the Physicians for Reproductive Health (PRH) Leadership Training Academy and was an ACOG LARC Family Planning Fellow.

Zeal’s research interests include patient education around contraception, access to family planning services following the Dobbs decision, and health policy impacts on health care access, patient experience, and healthcare workers.

Please help us welcome Dr. Zeal and her family back to Madison!
