Zheng publishes article in American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology

Jing Zheng, PhD, professor in the Division of Reproductive Sciences, recently published an article in the American Journal of Physiology Cell Physiology. Ying-jie Zhao, MD, PhD, and Si-yan Zhang, PhD candidate of this study, are the co-first authors. Chi Zhou, PhD, at the University of Arizona is a co-corresponding author. Sathish Kumar, DVM, PhD, professor in the Division of Reproductive Sciences and the School of Veterinary Medicine, also contributed as a co-author.
“An Endogenous Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Ligand Dysregulates Endothelial Functions, Transcriptome, and Phosphoproteome” builds on the team’s recent report in the Journal of Physiology-London. In this follow-up study, the authors explore the transcriptomic and phosphoproteomic mechanisms by which tryptophan metabolites induce endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia. Their findings highlight a set of genes and phosphoproteins that could serve as potential therapeutic targets for improving vascular function in preeclampsia.
