Mara Snyder joined the department in summer 2018 as Education Program Manager. In this role, she supervises and manages UW Ob-Gyn education programs, including medical student, resident and fellowship education.
Mara Snyder comes to UW Ob-Gyn from the UW Department of Surgery, where she started as the Primary Coordinator to the Surgery Education Research Program (1.5 years), before she was promoted to the role of General Surgery Residency Program Manager (4 years). She received her BS in Pre Med from the University of Notre Dame and M.A. in Teaching from Western Governor’s University.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s commitment to education, the apparent growth and reputation of its educational programs and the overall potential for her continued professional development, were the primary allure, and reasons for which Snyder decided to leave Department of Surgery to join the UW Ob-Gyn family. She is excited about working in an environment where her efforts can serve to improve and advocate for women’s health.
