Weekly didactic sessions, held on Thursdays, are attended by the Urogynecology faculty as well as fellows and residents. These are specifically designed for Urogynecology fellow education. Reading materials are distributed ahead of time and the faculty lead the review at each session. Topics are covered over a three-year period and will repeat every three years (per fellow cycle). When appropriate, faculty from other disciplines such as Urology, Plastic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Gastroenterology cover topics relevant to their discipline.
The Urogynecology fellows will attend and participate in department conferences, such as Obstetrics & Gynecology Grand Rounds, Urology Grand Rounds, Morbidity and Mortality (M&M), Journal Club and Faculty Development Workshops. Each Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery fellow will also have the option of attending additional conferences while on the Urogynecology-Urology rotation, including the Residents’ Education Conference (REC) and the Chairman’s Rounds.
