Tuyen Huynh received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Human Sciences with an emphasis on Child, Youth, and Family Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Huynh also earned her B.S. in Sociology from Penn State University. Dr. Huynh is a mixed methods researcher and has practiced mindfulness for over ten years. Her research focuses on identifying ways contemplative practices (e.g., mindfulness and self-compassion) can be integrated into interventions to effectively promote long-term family resilience by simultaneously targeting the enhancement of the caregivers’ well-being and parenting practices. As a HDRS postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Huynh will explore ways social determinants of health impact vulnerable populations such as pregnant women and how these factors influence their parenting, quality of caregiving, and parent-child relationship such as attachment.
